***The New Mattress Cleaning Service is effective on areas of contamination up to the size of a dinner plate. If the contaminated area is greater than the size of a dinner plate, then the contamination may be too significant for effective decontamination and replacing the mattress may be the best course of action. Unfortunately, not all stains of this size can be removed because they will have penetrated too deep into the mattress fibres for our cleaning solution to be effective. For your health, we recommend replacing the mattress.

Professional cleaning solutions will break down the body oils and sweat embedded within your mattress fibres and successfully decontaminate urine-stained areas (provided the area of contamination is smaller than a dinner plate).

An Electrodry technician will also apply an anti-dust mite treatment to give you the peace of mind that your mattress is protected from these tiny pests and their potentially harmful excrement.

We lose up to 1.5 cups of fluid a night as we perspire. Bacteria thrive in these conditions. Having a clean mattress can reduce allergens and improve the overall air quality in your home.

Your health will also benefit from a cleaner mattress, thanks to the treatment of dust mites and their excrement, which can cause a range of health issues.

Dust mites are microscopic in size, but they and their toxic excrement can affect your health. If you've had a runny or itchy nose, sore throat or just feeling generally lethargic, dust mites may be the cause.

Keeping on top of dust mite treatment is particularly important if you have someone at home who has asthma or suffers from allergies.

It is a great idea to vacuum your mattress at least once a month, ideally using a vacuum with a HEPA filter. A HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filter is designed to capture smaller dust particles and therefore performs a much more thorough vacuum.

Mix two parts water, one part vinegar, and a squirt of laundry detergent to create a cleaning solution.

Spray it onto your mattress generously before blotting away excess solution.

Once it has dried, sprinkle baking soda onto the mattress and leave it for 20 minutes before vacuuming. Baking soda will do a great job of treating odours.

You should not be using chemicals to clean your mattress unless you are trained to do so properly.

It is recommended that you wash your sheets weekly, especially so during warmer months. We also recommend drying them out in the sunshine – dust mites hate UV light so a bit of sunshine will do wonders.
