The Electrodry Upholstery Cleaning System
Our cleaning system is safer and more effective than other cleaning companies, because our unique dry cleaning solution breaks down oil and gets the best results for dirt and stain removal. Oily or sticky substances that end up on your couch bind dirt to the fabric, which is how you get dark stains. Our four step process removes the grease, releases the dirt, and then washes it all out with a hot water extraction clean. And we make sure to use the right product for the type of upholstery, meaning even delicate sofas are safe in our hands! We know upholstery, and we know how to get the best results for your lounge suite. And it doesn’t take all day – your chairs or couch will be dry enough to sit on again in 4 to 6 hours.

What Makes Electrodry Melbourne Different?
As lounge cleaning experts, we can tell you that not every couch is the same. Some are comfortable but a little lumpy, and some are delicate and posh. At Electrodry, we always assess the needs and challenges of your lounge suite before we start, to make sure that we clean your upholstery in the safest and most efficient way.
White Cotton and Linen Fabrics
These fabrics require special care and attention. Being natural fibres, cottons and linens are more delicate than synthetic fabrics. And white materials are at risk of cellulosic browning, or watermarks. It’s for this reason that Electrodry developed our special dry cleaning solution. This solution allows your Electrodry technician to break down grease and oil and remove dirt from your couch without using water. This dry cleaning process is done by hand, and does not have quite the same capacity for stain removal as a hot water extraction, however the results are still great.
Please note - The cleaning of natural fabrics such as cotton and linen can be more time consuming and chemical intensive than cleaning synthetic fabrics, hence an additional charge of up to $10 per seating position may apply for natural fabrics.
Patterned Cotton and Linen Fabrics
Patterned natural fibres and usually more processed than the plain/light fabrics. This means extra durability, which allows us to do a hot water extraction clean for the best effect. We still need to be careful to avoid watermarks or dye migration, so we first treat the couch with our dry cleaning solution, breaking down the oils and greasy substances. Next, we apply a condition pre-spray, which prevents colours from running and prevent watermarks. We also use a cleaning solution containing Healthguard, which gets rid of bacteria and mould. Finally, we rinse it all out with a hot water extraction clean. Our method will leave your lounge looking great, and it will be dry in just four to six hours.

Synthetic Fabrics
These are generally quite durable, and unlikely to leak colour or be susceptible to cellulosic browning. On synthetic fabrics we use both a dry cleaning solution and a neutral pre-spray, both of which help target stains, oil and dirt. Once we’ve treated the chair or sofa, we finish with a hot water extraction clean, to remove all the grime and germs.
