Electro-Shield

Electro-Shield is a unique long-lasting disinfectant coating for carpet and textiles formulated to target bacteria and a range of other germs.

The active ingredient in Electro-Shield will bond to textiles, such as carpet and upholstery and will target mould, bacteria and a broad range of germs for up to 4 months from application.

Disinfectants formulated to target germs lose their effectiveness in the seconds or minutes from application.

The active ingredient in Electro-Shield will bond to textiles and remain active until it is worn away, giving long-lasting protection.

When Electro-Shield is sprayed onto clean textiles, such as your carpet or upholstery, the active ingredient will bond to textile fibres. It is scientifically formulated to kill 99.9 % of bacteria and protect against a range of germs.

As a formulated QUAT (quaternary ammonium compound), our product is scientifically proven to destroy Enveloped Viruses (the same virus type as Novel Coronavirus CoViD-19), by attacking the protein wall of the cell, exposing the nuclei to destroy it.

The performance of Electro-Shield™ will dissipate over time and with regular wear.

To ensure that Electro-Shield™ remains active and effective, we recommend re-application every 4 months in residential environments and every 2 months in high traffic or commercial premises. In instances of high use or traffic, we recommend more regular application.

Electro-Shield™ will last longer on carpets and textiles that are kept clean. Abrasive dry soils and oily soils will impact the long-term effectiveness of Electro-Shield™. Accordingly, regular vacuuming is important and increased application frequency may be appropriate in a location with higher levels of soiling.

Electro-Shield must be applied to clean textiles and surfaces to be effective. Electro-Shield is not designed to bond to dirt, particulate matter or oily soils that build up in carpet and textiles.

If your carpet or upholstery is new (less than 12 months old) or has been recently cleaned, Electro-Shield may be applied following a thorough pre-vacuum.

Electrodry offers an application only service that is discounted for Electrodry customers who have had their carpet or upholstery cleaned in the last 6 months. The pricing for application of Electro-Shield without cleaning is listed below (all application services include a thorough pre-vacuum).

Electro-Shield will be included as part of our carpet and upholstery cleaning service at no additional cost.

Electrodry technicians have been trained in the application of this product. They will spray the product and groom with a carpet rake afterwards to ensure it is comprehensively applied to provide maximum benefits. It is safe and hygienic.

To maintain ongoing protection Electro-Shield should be re-applied every 3-4 months.

For best results, do not walk on the carpet for at least 30 minutes after application, or sit on the fabric for 2 hours after application.

Electro-Shield will also be available in an application for hard floors and surfaces in the coming weeks.

We recommend you leave the room whilst we apply Electro-Shield, but you can re-enter the room straight after.

Electro-Shield has been formulated to be safe and hygienic.

The carpet and upholstery will take a little longer to dry with the additional product added, so we advise staying off the carpet for at least 2 hours and/or not sitting on the upholstery for at least 5 hours.

Electrodry is also developing a formulation that will enable a fogging process that decontaminates indoor areas in the coming weeks.
