The main difference between carpet dry cleaning and ‘steam’ cleaning, or hot water extraction, is the quantity of water used. The steam cleaning method involves spraying a cleaning product onto the carpet, injecting pressurised water into the carpet, and then extracting it again. Depending on the actual system, this method uses 10 to 50 litres of water per room.
The Electrodry system uses much less water. We have created a dry cleaning solution which breaks down oils in the carpet that bind dirt to the fibres. This means that once we apply the conditioning rinse, dirt and stains are easily removed. There is no chemical residue left behind, and the best part? No wet carpets!
