Some cleaners use the same method for all upholstered furniture, regardless of the delicacy of the fabric. At Electrodry, we know that different materials need different methods and that some fabrics are more likely to bleed colour than others. All that aside, here’s our standard 4-step process:
Thorough Pre-Vacuum
Vacuum the carpet to remove loose dirt.
Dry Cleaning Solutions
We use a dry cleaning solution to break down oils and grease.
Specialised Cleaning Solutions
We sanitise your sofa using cleaning products infused with Healthguard, to kill bacteria.
Hot Water Extraction
We use a hot water extraction to rinse everything out of the couch. It should be dry again in 4-6 hours.
The Electrodry Guarantee
Electrodry gives all our clients a 14-day satisfaction guarantee. If you are not totally satisfied, we will re-clean your couch free of charge.

What Makes Electrodry Central Coast Different?
Couches come in all different shapes, materials and patterns, and different fabrics present different challenges. At Electrodry, we’ve developed different procedures for different kinds of material, to make sure that we clean your couch or sofa without damaging the material.
White Cotton and Linen Fabrics
These fabrics are often delicate, and are prone to watermarking if they get too wet. So instead of cleaning them using hot water extraction, we clean them by hand. This involves applying dry cleaning solutions that break down stains, and then doing the cleaning rinse with cloths, by hand. This method is sometimes less effective than hot water extraction, but it will prevent damage.
Please note - The cleaning of natural fabrics such as cotton and linen can be more time consuming and chemical intensive than cleaning synthetic fabrics, hence an additional charge of up to $10 per seating position may apply for natural fabrics.
Patterned Cotton and Linen Fabrics
The risk with natural coloured fabrics is colour migration or bleeding. To prevent this, we use a pre-spray to stabilise the colours. After that, we can generally proceed as normal with dry cleaning solutions and hot water extraction.

Synthetic Fabrics
Synthetic fabrics can be cleaned using the hot water extraction method, as well as our signature dry cleaning solutions. Once clean, your furniture should take 4-6 hours to dry before being used again.

About Electrodry Upholstery Cleaning Central Coast
Electrodry started in the 1980s, just up the Coast in Newcastle. Paul Burchell’s revolutionary dry cleaning system changed the game, and Electrodry now has franchises spread across Australia. Electrodry Gosford are backed up by the experience and expertise of the original Electrodry team in Newcastle, where the Burchells are still running things from the head office. That said, Electrodry on the Central Coast have a distinctly local flavour. We service the whole Central Coast area and love the beaches, the bush, and the friendly people that make this place so special.
