The main difference between carpet dry cleaning and steam cleaning can be seen in the quantities of water used by each. Compare the 2 litres per room used by dry cleaning with the 50 litres used by steam cleaning! It should be easy to see why dry cleaned carpet can be ready to walk on straight away, while steam cleaned carpet takes at least 4 to 6 hours to be safe to walk on.
