FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Electrory can work around your furniture, and we can reach partway under tables, desks and beds, depending on how high they are from the ground. We can usually reach 20 centimetres under the edge of a bed so that the uncoated area isn’t noticeable.
Electrodry will help move some items of furniture, as long as they’re not too heavy, before the job. In case you require furniture to be moved out of the rooms and then returned at the end of the day, Electrodry will be happy to book a furniture service for you. For a furniture moving service, we will have 2 technicians on site and arrange for a return visit in the afternoon as soon as the Timber refresh coating has dried. Please note that this service will incur an additional $180*.
Note that whilst the timber refresh coating is wet, we will not be able to move furniture, which means we can’t move the furniture from side to side during the coating process.
Timber Refresh requires adequate time to settle and start curing before it dries. This means that we can apply it on wet days, but we will not be able to do so on hot days, when the room temperature is over 28-30 degrees Celsius. However, if you have air-conditioning, this will allow us to adjust the temperature of the room so Timber Refresh can be applied. If you do not have air-conditioning, then we will book your service for first thing in the morning.
After the first 12 square metres we charge $15 per square metre thereafter. If you are unsure of the size of your rooms, we can measure it on the day.
Our standard per room rate is $99; note that this service includes time for vacuuming, edging, deep cleaning and application of the Timber Refresh coat — all of which take time. If the room is very small or we are working around large pieces of furniture such as beds, then we can consider adjusting the price; however, we can’t adjust the price for marginal differences in room size.
Timber Refresh is not suitable for floors where the polyurethane coating has worn through. Although Electrodry can clean and coat the floor, keep in mind that the polyurethane coating is not designed to seal/coat bare timber.
The Timber Refresh coating is designed to minimise the micro-scratches and abrasions that cause a floor to look dull. While Timber Refresh can typically make the deeper scratches much less visible, note that it will only have a minimal impact on scratches that penetrate the floor’s polyurethane coating. It will not have any effect on indents or gauges on the floor that are typically caused by pets or by moving heavy furniture. These types of defects can only be eliminated by sanding the floor.
The deep clean may get rid of some of the paint, but this will depend on the condition of the floor, age of the paint, and the type of paint used. The vast majority of the paint droplets can be removed by hand before we clean and coat your floor. For this type of service, we charge $120 per hour. Note, however, that removing paint from the floor can leave scratches on your floor. The Timber Refresh service will be able to conceal most of these scratches, but some scratches may still be discernible later.
Yes, certainly. The system is designed to leave the floor dry almost immediately, so it will have no effect on the glue in any way.
Electrodry’s Timber Refresh service will not fill in dents but will help cover over micro-scratches. It is designed to revitalise your floor, leading to amazing results. Note, however, that the end result will always depend on the original condition of the floor.
Synthetic PVC/Vinyl/Lino types of flooring that just look timber are not a good match for a Timber Refresh service. However, if your house does have timber floors with laminate, we can take care of that for you.
Timber Refresh will minimise scratches but will not remove them. An apt way to describe it is that the system and coating fills in the rough edges of a scratch, so small scratches will be almost unnoticeable whereas larger scratches will be less discernible.
The Timber Refresh coat enables the floor to regain its original sheen. Usually, we find that satin comes back to satin, gloss gets close to the original gloss but not quite, and matte is still matte — except perhaps just a tad glossier. It will still feel like a matt finish but without the dull traffic areas. If you are interested in availing the service, we’ll be happy to do a small sample patch in an inconspicuous area so you can see the result.
We expect our deep clean system to do well, although — depending on the complexity of the job — this might cost you a little bit more than the standard rate. However, the best option might be to send somebody out there to check things from your end.
Definitely. Timber Refresh works well on hardwood floors, engineered wood floors (floating floors), bamboo floors and cork.
Unfortunately, no. Timber Refresh is not meant to be used for cleaning wood/timber furniture.
Timber refresh will not fix peeling polyurethane. We can still perform the deep clean and apply the timber refresh coat, however we cannot guarantee the results. If the polyurethane is peeling off, then sanding and polishing your floors is the best option.
Stairs need to be cleaned and coated by hand and thus are more time consuming. The cost for an average width stair is cost $7 per stair and $15 for a square corner stair and $20 for a landing. To make the job easier to price over the phone we typically an estimate cost for a set of stairs $110.
